Eggs Islands Banshee

In a news article in 1921: It is reported  that there were strange noises coming from egg Island just near Franklin in Tasmania’s South. The noises sounded similar to the mythological banshee. The wailing continued on for several days. Some locals tried to explain it as the noise of a squeaky windmill, this is the only record of this incident so whether it has a supernatural origin or not has never been qualified.
