Description / Profile
Bangkok International Airport is one of the world’s busiest, and its main gateway is reputed to be one of the most haunted. The ground on which the airport is built was previously known as the Nong Nguhao, or Cobra Swamp in English, and it also served as a graveyard. Legend has it that when the marsh was drained and the airport was created, the snakes that were killed cast a curse on the area, and the former graveyard caretaker is supposed to prowl the building, making life miserable for both workers and frequent flyers. The man’s name is Poo Ming, and he was observed wandering frailly with a walking stick through the area where the cemetery used to be. Another ghost observed at the airport appears to be a young mother carrying a baby. The woman has a propensity for walking in front of automobiles, which has apparently resulted in numerous incidents. Many rituals have been performed to exorcise the dwelling ghosts, but to no avail. Many shrines have also been built in locations where incidents have occurred. So, if you ever visit Thailand for a tropical vacation, keep a watch out for any weird occurrences as you travel through this notoriously haunted transportation hub.
