Description / Profile
Covent Garden is a train station that serves the West End of London. The station was on the 11th of April 1907 servicing the Piccadilly Line in central London. Covent Garden station is said to be haunted by actor William Terriss, who is said to have frequented a bakery that was demolished during the construction of the station. Terriss performed regularly at the nearby Adelphi theatre; he could be considered a Victorian-era action hero starring mostly in swashbuckling plays such as Robin Hood. Terriss befriended a man named Richard Archer Prince and helped the struggling actor find work, occasionally involving Prince in plays alongside himself. Prince had a history of difficult behaviour and issues with alcohol abuse, and it was during one of these performances Prince became unruly and difficult, Terriss was forced to intervene and had him dismissed. This was the last straw for Prince, who became disgruntled and shortly after the dismissal, he attacked Terriss. Prince had hidden in a doorway near the stage door and during the ensuing struggle Terriss was stabbed to Death. Quite soon after the death of Terriss strange and frightening occurrences started happening at the Adelphi. After his death strange occurrences began to take place, The rather eloquently dressed figure of a man suspected to be that of Terriss has been seen both at the theatre and the tube station, with sightings having been reported many times over the years. Within the theatre, other strange occurrences have been witnessed. These include tapping sounds, footsteps, glowing orbs and one occasion the figure of a man floating above the stage bathed in radiant light.
